Beth Kontos, AFT-MA

Beth Kontos is currently the President of the American Federation of Teachers Massachusetts.  Before that she was president of the Salem Teachers Union. She is on leave from Salem High School where she is a Social Studies teacher. Beth first joined the NSLC in 2014 or so and has continued to attend meetings because of the engaging discussions, events and activities with community groups and unions. She shares that she always felt welcomed and supported here.  Some of Beth’s interests are primarily in education, but also in all aspects of the lives of her students like housing and food insecurity.
